10 Free Ways to Get More Visitors to Your Website

Do you want free traffic to your website? Are there other sources besides Google that can bring visitors to a website? The answer is yes and these methods (9 to 10 method is Google) describe what you need to do to get more traffic without relying entirely on Google search traffic.
1. Optimize your website for Google
Let's start with Google to get it out of our way. I'm sure everyone agrees that the best and toughest way to get free traffic is by optimizing your website for Google.
Google has more than 70% of the market share of search engines and a place in one of the top Google search positions, is a great source of free traffic.
The problem is that the competition is so huge that you need to have a great website, both in terms of content and SEO if you want to take a piece of the pie.
What you can do? SEO audit your website to make sure it is well optimized for Google and publish quality content on a regular basis.
Ok, now that Google is out of the picture, let's see from which other sources you can get free traffic.
2. Do not forget about Yahoo and Bing
Yahoo and Bing may not have Google's market share, but the first position in either Bing or Yahoo can bring in a good number of visitors.
I have websites that rank in the top positions of popular keywords in Google and Bing and although the traffic I get from Bing is a quarter of what I get from Google, it's still a good source of free traffic.

Second, it has to be active on Facebook and Twitter. Bing and Yahoo take into account (in your ranking algorithm) the number of likes of Facebook and Tweets what the more tastes and tweets your pages have, the higher the chances of ranking higher in Bing and Yahoo.

More and more users are searching the web using their mobile phones. The number of mobile searches are increasing drastically and simply can not ignore them.
Recent studies show that 28% of mobile searches are turning into an hour so it is very important to provide for a mobile optimized version as well.
What you can do? Mobilize your website! Creating a mobile version is not very difficult. You can also use a plugin (if you are on WordPress) or adopt a response design.

6. Create an Android app and publish to the Amazon store
Amazon was very successful with the Kindle and decided to create their own app store (Amazon AppStore). The concept is the same as described above with the publication of an application in the Google Play store.

10. Publish a presentation on slideshare.net
Have you heard of slideshare.net? If you do not go and take a look. Basically it is a web page where you can upload and share a presentation. The good news about Slideshare is that it has a lot of traffic so if you make a good presentation it will be seen by thousands of people and some of them can go to your website too.
What you can do? Create a free account with Slideshare and create an interesting and attractive presentation.
Do not be disappointed if you do not succeed from the beginning. You may have to try a couple of times before you create a presentation that will make many views.
